Lauri Elizabeth is a licensed Acupuncturist and certified Alexander Technique Teacher. She graduated with highest honors, earning a Master of Acupuncture (MAc) degree from the National University of Natural Medicine (NUNM) in 2015. She completed a one-year post-graduate residency at NUNM, a rare opportunity to assist in the student clinic, start her own private practice, and teach an elective class in the program (surprise: she taught Alexander Technique to acupuncture students!). She is now the AOM Residency Director at NUNM. Prior to her medical training, Lauri taught the Alexander Technique privately and at Marylhurst University for over a decade.
Lauri practices a gentle style of acupuncture, drawing from multiple Japanese styles. Her training emphasized pulse diagnosis and palpation to determine the necessary treatment and shallow insertions or non-insertive needling techniques. Lauri continues to be fascinated by the profound changes that are possible using a gentle treatment style.
The Alexander Technique has had a marked influence on Lauri's life and she is delighted to be able to share this work with others. Lauri graduated from the Oregon Center for the Alexander Technique in 2003, after training for three years with Rebecca Robbins. The Technique helps people unlearn habits that interfere with natural functioning and allows them to use themselves in a way that is natural, elegant, and efficient. Lauri works with people of all ages and all walks of life to be able to do more with less effort and discomfort.
Lauri is co-owner of Onkodo Clinic, along with Bob Quinn. She feels very lucky to have the opportunity to start a gentle medicine clinic with her mentor and friend.
Lauri accepts insurance from the following companies: Providence, OHP CareOregon, Regence BCBS, Cigna, Optum, Pacific Source. Contact Lauri via email to verify insurance benefits.
